Remembering Greg Futch

Greg as a young

boy living on

South Orange St. in Lafayette  & in 2002. We miss & love you.

It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one.  Greg leaving us has to be one of the most difficult and shocking things I've ever had to deal with in my life.  He was much too young  to die. Greg was also one of the most talented musicians I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.  He could make sounds with a guitar and harmonica that defied reality. What many people never knew about Greg was that he was a very private person.  He was a passionate American patriot who cared greatly for the direction this nation's going.  When you needed a laugh, he was able to put a smile on your face.  It didn't matter that his life was crumbling around him or that he was struggling with financial  and medical problems.  Music was his life.  He lived to play his songs. Unfortunately, he kept the worse news to himself.  He was doggedly independent and didn't want to be a burden to anyone.  I just wish he had been a burden…...maybe he'd still be around today.  We all love you Greg.  You're still too muckin'futch ! You'll live on forever through your songs and the joy you brought to so many.  I'm proud to be able to say I am a brother of yours.  Godspeed Buddy !
